Sleep Apnea – Revere, MA
IMPROVE YOUR QUALITY OF SLEEP
SLEEP APNEA TREATMENT RESTORES PROPER SLEEP
If loud snoring and waking up throughout the night are interfering with your quality of sleep, you could have sleep apnea. Sleep apnea is a dangerous medical condition where breathing actually stops during sleep. This can happen hundreds of times throughout the night, without the patient even knowing. It’s important to get treatment for sleep apnea as it can lead to medical issues like high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, and stroke. Dr. Femi Oguntolu can perform specialized tests to measure the airways and determine whether you have sleep apnea. If diagnosed, he can fit you with a SomnoDent oral appliance which helps open up the airways while sleeping so you can breathe easy.
GET YOUR LIFE BACK WITH PROPER SLEEP APNEA TREATMENT
Many people who snore loudly have a breathing problem that can affect their quality of sleep and interfere with their partner’s sleep. If you are waking up with a headache or find yourself tossing and turning at night, you could be dealing with a breathing problem. When the airways are obstructed, either because of sinus issues or other reasons, you can wake up suddenly just to catch your breath during sleep. This can become a serious health problem if left unaddressed but there are alternatives to a CPAP device to help you sleep. Dr. Oguntolu offers sleep apnea testing and treatment with an oral appliance at his practice.
IN-OFFICE SLEEP APNEA TESTING
Dr. Oguntolu has completed advanced training in sleep apnea treatment and has devices in the office that can determine if there are any obstructions in the airways causing snoring and breathing problems. These are very simple tests performed within a few minutes and can provide valuable information about your nasal passages, the nasal cavity, and your breathing patterns.
Pharyngometer
Dr. Oguntolu uses a pharyngometer to measure your pharyngeal airway size and stability from the oral pharyngeal junction to the glottis. This is a minimally invasive procedure that only takes 2 – 5 minutes to complete.
Rhinometer
This device allows for measurements of nasal patency and gathers information using acoustic reflection. It allows us to take a closer look at the nasal cavity to see how open the airways are.
SLEEP APNEA TREATMENT PROCESS
If you are having severe snoring issues or have been diagnosed with sleep apnea, an oral appliance can be a simple and effective way to keep your air passages open while you sleep. Dr. Oguntolu uses the SomonDent brand of oral appliances for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). This is a proven alternative to the CPAP device and can help you finally get the good night’s rest you deserve.
Don’t suffer through another night of snoring or poor quality sleep!
